The second-generation model does not come with a factory reset button on the bottom of the device so you'll use a slightly different method. When the list of Wi-Fi networks appear, choose your network, enter the password and tap Connect. The app finishes scanning for Google Home devices in the vicinity, and it prompts you to navigate to your mobile device's Wi-Fi settings. Go ahead and connect to Google Home’s hotspot, which appears on the available Wi-Fi network list.
The most common fix for the Google Home “Something Went Wrong” message is to factory reset the device. To do so, press and hold the small button underneath the device for 20 seconds. Your router and internet connection only have so much bandwidth to support online activity. The more devices that are using the internet, the less bandwidth available to go around. In order to connect your device to the Wi-Fi if you've changed your password, you first have to disconnect the device. This will reset your connection and allow you to connect your internet with the new password enabled.

If your Google Home or Nest Mini has stopped talking back to you or stopped listening to your commands, it could be time for a factory reset.
Restart the Home app
If you've recently changed your Wi-Fi password, your Google Home or Nest will not be able to connect to the internet. No button exists on the device to easily reconnect your Google Home to your router. If you’re trying to reboot your Home Mini instead of performing a full-on factory reset, you can try a simple power cycle. If your Google Home speaker was set up but now needs to be connected to a different Wi-Fi network or an existing network with a changed password, take the following steps.
